Manual & Automatic Driving Lessons
CANCELLATION FEE: The full amount will be charged if the driving lesson is cancelled by the student 24 hours before the booking. Cancellations will be monitored and, if considered to be repeated cancellations, then future lessons may be cancelled and offered to other students on the waiting list.
No shows/Late to lesson: I will be waiting 15 minutes into the lesson for you to arrive. After that, I will be leaving, and the lesson will be cancelled, and your lesson money will be lost. I am not responsible for late arrivals on your behalf. I would not be 15 minutes late to your lesson out of respect, so I will not accept the same.
INSURANCE: All fees include pupil cover whilst driving the school vehicle, (provided the pupil is licensed to drive), and is accompanied by, or under the direction of, a Driving Standards Agency A.D.I or P.D.I. (Car). A fee will be applied for use of the car for the driving test.
FEES: All hourly driving lessons are subject to a minimum 1 working day (24 hours) notice for any cancellations. The School, Drive with L, retains the right to charge a full tuition fee if the above notice is not given.
PAYMENTS: We accept payment by either Cash, Bank Transfer or Online Payment app. Pre-payment lessons are accepted on the understanding no refunds will be given.
i) Payments MUST be made at least 48 hours before the lesson starts, unless discussed prior. If you want to pay cash, you can do it on the day.
ii) If payment has not been made prior to cancellation then this charge will be added to the next lesson invoice and must be paid before future lessons take place.
iii) If you terminate your block booking lessons before using the full block, you will be charged at the non-block rate for each lesson you’ve had, resulting in a partial refund.
iiii) I would also like lesson payments to be made no less than 48 hours before each lesson unless agreed otherwise. If this does not take place, then there is a chance that the lesson will be cancelled by myself as I should not have to chase payment.
APPOINTMENTS:
i) While every care will be taken to ensure Pupils receive training at the requested time, all bookings are made on the understanding that DRIVE WITH L is not responsible for the postponement of training due to traffic conditions, adverse weather conditions, mechanical breakdown of equipment or any other cause outside of our control.
ii) If in the view of the instructor, the pupil is unfit to carry out the lesson safely, due to self-induced circumstances (e.g. Alcohol, Drugs, Just Wake up) a cancellation charge will apply.
iii) Occasionally there may be bookable gaps in my diary which your Total Drive app will notify you of. You can book these gaps through the app on a first come, first served basis.
BOOKS AND TRAINING MATERIAL: All question papers, handouts, books, C.D. ROMs and relevant materials remain the property of the Driving School. (If not returned on request a fee will be charged).
THE DRIVING TEST: The school reserves the right to withhold the training vehicle, if in the instructor’s opinion, the pupil does not reach the required standard. The school cannot be held responsible for Test Appointments being postponed or cancelled by the Driving Standards Agency. Furthermore, we are not responsible for any failure of light bulbs etc. during the Practical test. All bulbs/lights etc. will be checked at the test centre prior to the test, with the candidate. A fee of £50 will be charged if we book or alter your driving test on your behalf. If we book a practical test on a pupil’s behalf and do not receive payment, the test can be cancelled by us at any time.
PERSONAL PROPERTY: The school accepts no liability for personal property that is left in any training vehicle.
MOBILE PHONES: All pupils should ensure that these are switched off, prior to entering the tuition vehicle, for safety reasons. Due to recent changes in the law, your instructor will not use a mobile phone whilst the vehicle is moving on a driving lesson.
WEATHER: The school has the right to charge the full tuition fee / test fee if lessons / tests are cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
PRIVACY STATEMENT: We believe that your privacy is important.
